Preventing Female Athlete Injuries
What are the Injuries of the Female Athlete?

Kathy Coakley, PTA, ATC
Owner, COASTherapy

The female athlete experiences the same types of injuries as men, (tendonitis, bursitis, musculoskeletal, fractures, sprains).
What is quite different is why and how these injuries occur.  Females are anatomically different, hormonally different, and developmentally
different and can influence injuries sustained while participating in sports differently than men.  In this seminar we will explore those differences and most common injuries women develop in the knee, shoulder, spine, lower leg and foot.  Quick hints on how to avoid these injuries before they start and quick treatment protocol athletes can take home if they do start.
