Breaking Out Foundation
Retains Women’Sports Services

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA. Women’Sports Services has been hired by the Breaking Out Foundation to assist with the long term strategic planning of the Breaking Out Foundation and for the development of all program materials for the newly established non-profit organization.

The mission of the Breaking Out Foundation is to motivate and inspire at-risk youth to establish career goals in both the sports and entertainment industries, and to provide them with the guidance, education and training needed to pursue those goals and realize their dreams.

The Breaking Out Foundation was established by Michael Franzese, former member of the mob, and author of the famous book "Quitting the Mob". According to Franzese, the Foundation represents an opportunity for young people to "break out" and "break away" from the difficult situations they face daily with drugs, alcohol and crime.

The Breaking Out Foundation has established a four (4) step program to carry out their mission. The program includes: 1) presentations at schools, youth organizations, and other community facilities that encourage youths to join the Breaking Out Clubs; 2) enrolls interested youth in the "Clubs", which are established at the various schools and facilities; 3) provides a Center for guidance, education, and training to prepare young men and women for careers in sports & entertainment; and 4) provides job placement and/or access to real employment opportunities, upon enrollment and/or completion of the Program at the Center.

Women’Sports Services (Career Division) will be responsible for the design and development of all program materials including, the Facilitator’s & Advisor’s Handbook, Students Guide, and Entertainment and Sports Career Supplemental Packages. In addition WSS will play an active role in developing the Sports & Entertainment Resource Library (Center), scheduling of athlete appearances, and corporate sponsorship support. The Center will serve as a model for future Center’s to be launched across the country.

Women’Sports Services joins Breaking Out Foundation partners, Junior Achievement, F.A.M.E., the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks and the NBA Los Angeles Lakers, who are all dedicated to helping at-risk youth in developing the skills necessary to be successful in careers in both the entertainment and sports industries.
