California Interscholastic Federation’s (CIF)
25th Anniversary of Girls & Women’s Sports Dinner


HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA. In recognition of 25 years of high school athletics in the state of California, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) has announced two (2) dinner celebrations, one in northern California, October 23, 1999 and one in southern California event on November 5, 1999, honoring female "trailblazers" who have paved the way for girls high school athletics in the state of California.

Women’Sports Services has confirmed Ann Meyers Drysdale to emcee bothevents. "We are thrilled to have Annie as the host emcee. She has been a great rolemodel and celebrity athlete for the state of California and is significant in recognizingthe history behind girls high school athletics in California, said Becky Heidesch, CEO/Founder of Women’Sports Services. Keynote speakers for the event are Eva Auchincloss, (Founding Executive Director, Women’s Sports Foundation) for the Northern, California event on October 23, and Maybelle Blair (All American Girls Professional Baseball League/League of Their Own) for the Southern, California event on November 5.

CIF, the largest high school athletic federation in the country, provides equitable athletic opportunities for over 1.4 million students attending 1,200 plus public & private schools in California and 78,000 coaches and athletic directors. Media influence throughCIF on the State Population is estimated at 30,000,000.

Women'Sports Services (WSS) has announced the signing of several sponsors for the inaugural events. Sponsors to date include; Amateur Athletic Foundation, City of Los Angeles/Municipal Sports, Hyundai, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Sparks, McDonald’s, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro, Investment Development Services, Inc., Shorewood Reality, and Thor.

As the exclusive marketing agency for the event, Women'Sports Services (WSS) is responsible for servicing accounts related to marketing, sponsorship sales, coordinationof speakers, and athlete appearances. Celebrity athletes will participate in the evening programs
