Executive Director - The Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority

The Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority is now soliciting Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for its Executive Director position. The Authority is an independent and autonomous instrumentality for the City of Miami created pursuant to Ordinance #9662, as amended. Its mission is to facilitate and promote sports, conventions, exhibitions, tourism and related activities which will contribute to the economic and social growth in the City of Miami. Interested candidates must write to receive the Request for Qualification Document. The document contains specific information about the scope of responsibilities, submission requirements and selection procedures. The deadline for requesting RFQ is Feb 29,2000. Business Manager - HA-LO Sports & Entertainment

The individual must possess strong organizational, writing and interpersonal skills. Advertising or marketing knowledge a plus. Must have good independent work habits, be confident and a team player.  Must have a passion to work in the sports and entertainment industry. The positions available are in the Chicago and New York offices and are open to undergraduate seniors and above. Interface with Account executive and key client representatives on a daily basis. Maintain communication between client and other appropriate parties (i.e. other departments, local/regional offices, other outside agencies, etc. Coordinate and attend meetings with or on behalf of client, which may require travel. Attend events, and if necessary provide event management duties, with or on behalf of client, which may require travel. Negotiate and leverage minor client sponsorships. Negotiate and leverage potential minor client sponsorships. Assist in evaluation, executive and fulfillment of client promotions/sponsorships. Handle incoming calls of inquiry. Review incoming promotional and sponsorship proposals. Create and distribute declination letters. Coordinate monthly declination logs. Create sponsorship proposal summaries and recommendations for presentation to client. Coordinate advertising, promotional or collateral materials for active programs. Research potential promotions/sponsorships. Create, maintain and distribute contract summaries, ticket allocations grids, contracts and action plans for client sponsorships. Update administrative reports, flies and binders. Schedule travel plans for staff members. Work closely with Account Supervisor to learn negotiating and leveraging skills. Qualifications: High school diploma, or equivalent, plus additional training lasting up to one year. Bachelor's degree in sports management or related field is preferred.
