implementation of a set camping and trip program. Counselors are responsible for a cabin with four campers. The primary
responsibilities are to develop a positive, proactive relationship with campers, to act as a role model, to facilitate team and
personal growth, and to ensure health and safety. In addition to the activities, counselors spend time with campers developing
goals, creating journals, problem solving, and debriefing activities. The staff work as a team directly with the camp director.
Responsibilities are shared in accordance with each counselors skills and abilities. Staff have partial and full days off during
sessions and three days off between sessions. Located in the Rocky Mountains USA - CO UT WY MT ID. Experience working
with children (urban youth) in outdoor settings, trip leading preferred. General to advanced knowledge and abilities in several or
all of the following activities: canoeing, swimming, backpacking, kayaking, rock climbing, outdoor education, group dynamics,
experiential education, games and initiatives, orienteering, and outdoor living. Personal attributes such as patience, initiative,
enthusiasm, proactive communication style, flexibility, and energy a must. Other: 21 or older (preferred), valid/safe drivers
license, first aid certification (ARC, WFA, WRF, CPR). Also desire small craft and life guard certifications. |
